PS4 Apparently In Development Since 2010

A LinkedIn profile clearly showcases development on what seems to be the PS4.

Since Sony’s totally not budging on announcing anything about the PS4, us gamers take to the internet and delve into everything and anything in the search for information. Sometimes we come up with absolutely nothing, and times like today, we seem to strike gold.

The data miners over at VideoGamer have managed to discover a profile on LinkedIn that clearly references work on the PS4, citing it as the ‘Next Generation Playstation’. The profile in question is of someone known as Atilla Vass, a gentleman who has worked as director of R and D at Sony since May 1998.

On his profile, Atilla clearly states he’s been working on some form of next generation platform, thought to be the PS4. He says: “In 1998 I started as the first engineer in the Playstation US R&D. I worked on graphics ( COLLADA, PSGL ) and a lot of network related technologies ( advertising, telemetry, PVRs ) for the Playstation2-x, PSP, Vita and Next Generation platforms.”

The next generation part is the interesting bit, as the profile clearly states that development on the apparent PS4 has been going on since August of 2010.  Since the profile clearly lists Vita as a separate entity and we’re yet to see any other Sony technology after that, it seems that this mysterious next generation platform is quite clearly the PS4.

So what have we learned from this episode? Well, the PS4 is in development, and it contains graphics and security. Who’d have thought it eh?
