‘Metal Gear Solid 5’ Images Leaked

Apparently Hideo’s being hiding something away at Comic-Con.
If you’ve been waiting patiently to hear absolutely any information about Metal Gear Solid 5, you’re not alone. The gaming world holds its breath waiting to see what series creator Hideo Kojima might have up his sleeves with the latest entry in his epic saga.

Well, according to some reports, some lucky people at this year’s Comic Con got to see exactly what’s up there in a closed-door screening of Metal Gear Solid 5.

That’s the rumour anyway, and it’s being fuelled by a load of images that are circulating the net. These delightful snippets clearly showcase the logo Metal Gear Solid 5 and a few brief text elements including ‘The moment we were cast out of heaven, we became monsters.” and ‘Would she have wanted this – it doesn’t matter now”.

It’s all very intriguing stuff for sure and the images would certainly seem to show some form of Metal Gear Solid 5 is currently in the works. Unfortunately, I’m afraid to report that Konami has now debunked the rumour completely via their UK Twitter account, stating that:

“Seriously, just in case the ‪#pinch‬ ‪#salt‬ hashtags weren’t enough – the chap who claims to have set up the fake rumours has been in touch.”

Whenever these kind of rumours start circulating I always put on my very best sceptic hat and frown at the screen in contemplation. The severe graininess and generally poor quality of the images, plus Konami’s blatant dismissal of the claims only goes to show that the mysterious power of the internet has the power to raise and pop everyone’s expectations in the very same day.

You never know though – these shots of Metal Gear Solid 5 could be real. Or alternatively, unicorns could fart rainbows….wait, didn’t they do that in Red Faction already? Guess they’re real then.
