Mass Effect 3 Earth Releasing Next Week

Ready for some more Mass Effect 3 multiplayer action? Of course you are.

Leaked a while back by a serial leaker on Reddit, Bioware today officially confirmed the existence of the Mass Effect 3 Earth DLC package.

The pack is to release next Tuesday 17th July, and is to bring a set of new multiplayer levels set against the backdrop of Earth. Bioware’s remaining pretty tight-lipped about what exactly the pack will contain, but from the previously leaked material we have this PR snippet:

“The fighting is fiercest when it’s your home at stake! Mass Effect 3 Earth adds mods, gear, and new maps for Rio, Vancouver, and London. It features 3 new weapons: Piranha assault shotgun, Acolyte pistol, and Typhoon light machine gun. Six new human N7 classes are also available: Destroyer, Paladin, Demolisher, Slayer, Shadow, and Fury!”

The Earth DLC pack shows Bioware’s continuous commitment to keeping Mass Effect 3 relevant. There’s also a rumoured single-player DLC pack coming in the near future called ‘Leviathan’, which will centre around the discovery of a banished Reaper.  It isn’t confirmed by any means, but a voice actor who is voicing ‘Leviathan’ told Eurogamer he’d be playing the part.

Sleuths also found code and dialogue from the Leviathan pack hidden within the code of the recent Epilogue package, so you can probably bet that this piece of DLC will be hitting in the next few months.

Perhaps most importantly, the Mass Effect 3 Earth package will be absolutely free.
