Ratchet and Clank Trilogy Release Date Revealed

Ratchet and Clank Trilogy Release Date Revealed

Ratchet, Clank and that bumbling buffoon Qwark are about to get the official HD treatment later this month. If you’re outside of America, that is.

Pencil these dates in your diaries folks: the Ratchet and Clank HD Collection (now known as simply the Ratchet and Clank Trilogy) will launch for PS3 on Wednesday 27th June across Europe,Thursday 28th June in Australia and New Zealand, and Friday 29th June in the UK and Ireland.

The collection contains all three of the original Ratchet and Clank games and comes armed with shiny new HD visuals, trophy support and even stereoscopic 3D.

The three games are (depending where you live) Ratchet and Clank, Ratchet and Clank 2: Going Commando (Ratchet and Clank 2: Locked and Loaded in PAL territories) and Ratchet and Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal (simply Ratchet and Clank 3 in Europe).

The original titles are known for being some of the most fantastic platforming/shooter hybrids of the PS2 era, combining together funny storylines, likeable characters and universe-traversing adventuring with Insomniac Games’ mad arsenal of insanely awesome weaponry.

The game is being created in honour of Ratchet and Clank’s tenth anniversary. Amazing to think it was ten years to the day my obsession with this series began, but time does fly when you’re shooting people in the face with a R.Y.N.O or turning them into sheep with a sheepinator.

With both this and the Jak and Daxter HD collection out as well, they’re really spoiling us for choice over on the PS3. Unfortunately the Playstation Blog didn’t reveal a release date for America, so you guys will just have to wait it out for the moment.

Want to see it in action? Of course you do! Luckily you can do that with the Ratchet and Clank Trilogy’s official trailer, which is right here for your viewing pleasure.
