Black Ops 2 To Be a Wii U Launch Title

Call of Duty’s bleak future will also invade the Wii U’s launch.

According to Eurogamer, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be a launch title for Nintendo’s new console, the Wii U.

The leak comes after scans from Nintendo Gamer magazine were leaked out before the magazine’s publication, showing similar screenshots that we’ve already seen running on Xbox 360 and PS3. The article in question is actually previewing the title, so it seems that you can pencil Black Ops 2 for release on Wii U at some point.

As seen at E3 2012, Nintendo’s all about third party games. Now Blops 2 may not have been referenced on their showcase, but you do have to think the big N would love to get their paws on such a massive title as Black Ops 2. With their new hardware basically on par with the other consoles this wouldn’t be a watered down version we usually get on the Wii either, it would probably be the full-blown experience with added Wii-U Gamepad functionality.

Given that Nintendo is a launching a brand new online platform, focusing on online connectivity and developing social interactions, it just seems likely that they’d try to get their hands on the most popular multiplayer franchise in the world, right?

Since there’s no release date yet for the Wii U console itself, it really is anyone’s guess when the game will launch. If it does coincide with the launch of the Wii U, we can probably expect to see Black Ops 2 on Wii U at some point this November.

Black Ops 2’s release date is currently set at 11/13/2012.
