The Last of Us: Truck Ambush Trailer

A brand new cinematic from Naughty Dog will make you feel that tingly feeling.

You know how when Naughty Dog touches absolutely anything lately it looks absolutely incredible? That tradition is continuing with their brand new title The Last of Us, which – judging by the latest trailer – looks absolutely phenomenal.

We still don’t really get a good glimpse at the gameplay as this is a cinematic trailer but, wow, it just looks incredible.

Naughty Dog has also revealed they’ve subtly changed Ellie (that’s the girl in the trailer) to reflect more upon the motion capture actress who’s being playing her.

In an interview with IGN, Neil Druckmann, creative director of The Last of Us, said: “After delving further into the game’s narrative over the past few months, we decided to modify Ellie’s model to better reflect Ashley’s personality, and also resemble a slightly younger teen more fitting to the story. We’re happy with the final result shown in the cinematic we have released today, and hope the fans like her too.”

I have to admit I barely noticed the changes as I was immediately suckered into the world The Last of Us has created. It looks intensely believable, and the gritty decision by the lead character Joel to not help a man who seems to be injured shows the true fight-for-survival mentality that the world is gripped by.
