Skyrim Kinect Update Goes Live Today + Full Command List

Skyrim Kinect Update Goes Live Today + Full Command List

If you’ve been roaming the wilderness of Skyrim wanting to shout at things, now’s your chance.

A while back, we reported that the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was to get a rather fancy Kinect update that lets you relive the Dragon Shouts in the game (and much more), scaring the bejesus out of your cats, surrounding relatives and the general populace as you scream ‘FUS!’ at your TV for no apparent reason.

If you’ve been itching to have a go at shouting your TV and it actually doing something for once, Bethesda today officially announced that the promised update has now gone live. So hook up your TV and get ready for over 200 individual voice commands that are about to enhance your Skyrim experience!

Before you check out the new list of commands, you can also view the video below to see the update in action:

The new list of Skyrim Kinect voice commands is (speech in italics):

Dragon Shouts

The funnest part no doubt! To use a Dragon Shout, you must have unlocked the shout at that particular level, and have submitted a Dragon’s Soul in order to use it.

To activate the Dragon Shouts, you can either say the name of the shout – e.g. Unrelenting Force – or you can say the actual Dragon speech – e.g. FUS RO DA. In order to use Dragon speech, you must also hold down your RB button on the controller, and you can choose to say one, two, or all three words of a particular shout.

The list of Dragon Shouts is:

  • Unrelenting Force or FUS RO DA
  • Dismay or FAAS RU MAAR
  • Become Ethereal or FEIM ZII GRON
  • Whirlwind Sprint or WULD NAH KEST
  • Elemental Fury or SU GRAH DUN
  • Clear Skies or LOK VAH KOOR
  • Fire Breath or YOL TOOR SHUL
  • Dragonrend or JOOR ZAH FRUL
  • Call of Valor or HUN KAAL ZOOR
  • Call Dragon or OD AH VIING (only one level of this shout available)
  • Animal Allegiance or RAAN MIR TAH
  • Aura Whisper or LAAS YAH NIR
  • Disarm or ZUN HAAL VIK
  • Marked for Death or KRII LUN AUS
  • Frost Breath or FO KRAH DIIN
  • Storm Call or STRUN BAH QUO
  • Kyne’s Peace or KAAN DREM OV
  • Slow Time or TIDD KLO UL
  • Throw Voice or ZUL MEY GUT
  • Ice Form or IIZ SLEN NUS

Favorites Menu and Hotkey Equipping

These are only usable in the favorites menu.

To assign an item to your favourites you must say ASSIGN then followed by a hotkey command. Hotkey command can be any of the following:

  • Health Potion
  • Magicka Potion
  • Stamina Potion
  • Poison
  • Sword
  • Axe
  • Mace
  • Dagger
  • Bow
  • Shield
  • Dual wield left
  • Dual wield right
  • Soul trap
  • Greatsword
  • Battleaxe
  • Warhammer
  • Fire spell
  • Frost spell
  • Lightning Spell
  • Ward spell
  • Ritual spell
  • Bound weapon
  • Summon spell
  • Armor spell
  • Calm spell
  • Frenzy spell
  • Healing spell
  • Light

Outside of the favourites menu, you can then use your hot-keyed items to do the following:

  • Equip <hotkey command> – Equips whatever your hotkey is
  • Equip dual <hotkey command> – If possible, equips your hotkey in both hands
  • Equip left <hotkey command> – Equips in left hand
  • Equip Sword and Shield, Equip Mace and Shield, Equip Axe and Shield, Equip Dagger and Shield – Equips a hotkeyed sword and shield to your right and left hands.
  • Equip Right – Equips to right hand
  • Equip dual weapons – Does what it says on the tin

Follower Commands

Now you can order around your favourite enemy fodder without opening cumbersome menus. To use any of these commands, say ALLY to your TV followed by the command.

  • Follow/Follow Me
  • Wait/Wait Here
  • Trade/Items
  • Open – Ally opens container/Door you’re looking at
  • Stand – Ally stands where you’re looking
  • Retrieve – Ally picks up item you’re looking at
  • Attack – Attacks the NPC you’re looking at
  • Interact/Use – Initiates generic action command

Items Menu

Open your items menu and say the following stuff to open that particular category.

  • Favorites
  • All
  • Weapons
  • Apparel/Armor
  • Potions
  • Scrolls
  • Food
  • Ingredients
  • Books
  • Keys
  • Miscellaneous
You can also sort your items by saying the following stuff:
  • Sort By Name
  • Sort by Weight
  • Sort By Value

Then when you’re done, order that menu to close by screaming:

  • CLOSE MENU!

Barter Menu

Obviously, this only works when you’re bartering. You could try saying it to the mountain goats, but I believe this doesn’t work. Give it a try, and let me know.

To activate these commands you need to say THEIR, followed by:

  • Items
  • Weapons
  • Apparel/Armor
  • Potions
  • Scrolls
  • Food
  • Ingredients
  • Books
  • Keys
  • Miscellaneous

You can then choose your own items by saying MY, followed by the same commands above.

Again, this menu can be sorted by saying:

  • Sort by Name
  • Sort by Weight
  • Sort by Value
  • Close Menu

Container Menu

When looking at stuff in a chest or general cupboard where you horde all your crap, the commands work exactly the same as the barter ones above, with the addition of several specifics. These are:

  • Set Loot Limit – Sets the value of the Loot Items command. Can be 0, 10, 50, 5, 25, 100
  • Loot Items – Takes all items from a container whose value-to-weight ratio is greater than or equal to the loot limit. For example, if the loot limit is 100, an object with a weight of .1  and value of 100, would have a value to weight ratio of 1000, so it would qualify. If the loot limit is zero, only weightless items such as gold/lockpicks are taken

Magic Menu

In the magic menu, saying these lovely words will open that category.

  • Favorites
  • All
