Playstation has released a trailer for what could very well be God of War IV.

While it doesn’t bear the official “IV” at the end of it’s name, God of War: Ascension is confirmed to be on the Playstation 3 (as opposed to the Vita) and is reportedly going to take us back to the beginning of Kratos’s saga for hot, fiery vengeance. According to the Playstation Blog players will:

Discover the origins of Kratos as he takes his first steps on a now legendary quest for freedom and vengeance.

I’m not too hot on the idea of yet another prequel in the series, but more God of War is rarely a bad thing. There’s no word on a release date yet.
