Call of Duty 2012 Reveal Date Officially Announced

Call of Duty 2012 Reveal Date Officially Announced

Get ready to be excited, you CODders out there!

Earlier this week I reported on a leaked image that had surfaced, seemingly telling us to ‘return for debriefing’ this May. The picture seemed to clearly allude to a new Call of Duty game, thought very much so to be Black Ops 2.

Well, we don’t know exactly if it is Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 just yet, but Activision has now officially announced that the official reveal of this year’s COD will come this May 1st during the basketball playoffs on TNT.

The announcement comes via the official site, which says ‘CALL OF DUTY: WORLD REVEAL – Tune in May 1st’. There are no particular clues to what the game might be except for several things that say ‘classified’ in the background, so it’ll be interesting to see whether this is Black Ops 2 or something else entirely. All the evidence so far does point towards a Blops 2 reveal though!

The source code of the page actually says: “2012 Activision Publishing, Inc. Activision and Call of Duty are registered trademarks and Black Ops is a trademark of Activision Publishing, Inc. All other trademarks and trade names are the properties of their respective owners.” so it seems very unlikely it’ll be anything other than Black ops 2.

If you go to COD’s site you’ll see there’s also a countdown to May 1st which you can stare at till your eyes bleed if you so wish. There’s also, if you look very carefully, some kind of video playing behind a deliberately fuzzy, static screen. I can’t exactly make out what’s in it mainly because I’ve just arisen from bed and my eyes aren’t working properly yet, but if you can spot what it is, let us know in the comments below.

Even calling it an emu is progress.
