Bungie Hands Over Halo

As Bungie bids a fond farewell to Halo, it has put together an impressive pictograph chronicalling the world’s Halo achievements.
As of today, all online player information for Halo games will be handled by 343 studios, Microsoft’s internal Halo studio.
In a statement to GameInformer, Bungie said,
“Bungie will no longer be able to update game stats and player service records, to host new user generated content, or to operate the Bungie Pro service. All currently supported, Bungie-developed Halo titles will be impacted by this change.
Halo Waypoint will serve as the outlet for any and all replacement functionality as well as future Halo support. Bungie said that it will store all existing Halo data on Bungie.net “for as long as the Internet and Bungie’s data storage systems remain functional.
As a parting gift, Bungie has compiled a staggering amount of statistics to show just how wildly popular Halo has been over the years. Warning, if you are one who has invested a lot of time into Halo and prefers to avoid having things put into perspective, you may want to look away.
