PS Vita Data Plans Revealed

PS Vita Data Plans Revealed

As you’re more than likely aware, the PS Vita comes with 3G, allowing you to access the internet on the go. Care to find out how much it’ll cost you?

AT&T are the guys behind the 3G plans for the higher priced Vita, and they’re delighted to be offering the pricing plans to Vita owners.

“The data plans for the PlayStation Vita will give gaming enthusiasts a convenient and seamless path to connect to a nationwide mobile broadband network while gaming on the go,” said Glenn Lurie, president, emerging devices, AT&T.  “We are looking forward to providing PlayStation Vita users the ability to experience a new era of portable gaming through wireless integration. This introduces an entirely new gaming experience, with access to popular social networking sites, right on the device.”

Now sit down everyone, make yourself a cup of strong tea and take a reassuring sip of brandy before you hear exactly how much these prices will be (bearing in mind you’ve probably just spent a fortune on your Vita, a memory card and some games for it). The pricing plans will be a month-to-month based payment without contracts, starting at $14.99 per month for 250MB of data and $24.99 a month for 2GB of data.

The 3G model of the Vita, retailing for $299.99, includes Sony’s answer to the 3DS’ Street Pass, Near, LiveArea which provides regular gaming updates and will also include access to leaderboards, multiplayer and your favourite social networking sites.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to the money tree at the bottom of the garden in preparation.
