We’ve Been Trolled…Half Life Style.

Bubble bursting alert. Sorry to say it folks, but Valve has now clarified that the mysterious Half Life websites which appeared the other day are in fact a severe case of internet trolling, and nothing more. Damn.

The internet was set on fire the other day when it seemed that, out of the blue, Valve was teasing Half Life 3. Two individual websites appeared, one showing a mysterious logo, the other showing an apparent Logo for Half Life 3, complete with disclaimers and much.

Chet Faliszek of Valve recently squashed any hope of Half Life 3 appearing as a result of these websites by a post over on the Steam forums. He had the following to say:

You are being trolled.

There is no ARG.

Wheatley’s speech was set in Portal 2 fiction – that is all.

There has been no directive from Gabe to leak anything. That is all false.

I just want to say this so there is no confusion. This is the community trolling the community nothing more. While it is nice to see people excited about anything HL, I hate seeing people be trolled like this.

I’m just as annoyed as you are, believe me. God damn you, internet trolls! I shake my fist angrily in your general direction for getting us all excited. Evil people.

If you need further proof of the the websites being fake, they’ve since been changed to only show black screens, and Valve’s overlord Gabe Newell actually sent out an email that simply says ‘no’ to any rumours of these websites being legit. Literally.
