Reviews Incoming!

As I am sure you are all aware, we here at ManaTank have been quite busy the past couple weeks. Unfortunately, that means we’ve fallen a bit behind in our obsessive gaming playing habits. Thankfully we are back on track and here is what you can expect to see coming down the pipe in the next few days.

Dark Souls:

Death, frustration, and punishment aside, we here at ManaTank have in fact not forgotten about the rage inducing Dark Souls. As pleased as we are that this game has been in our hands for awhile, it couldn’t have come at a busier time. However, with all that hoopla out of the way and everyone back in their respective states, it’s nothing but sleepless nights spent ambling through undead castles and caverns attempting to keep my controller in one piece.

Up to this point, the game has far surpassed any expectations I could have had for it. If you haven’t read my glowing review of Demon’s Souls by now, check it out here. I didn’t think it would be possible for a game to be any harder than Demon’s Souls, but From Software managed to pull it off. I spent nearly 3 hours on one section attempting to navigate roughly 100 yards… and that was less than 2 hours into the game. I’ve since fallen back into my more cautious, strategic approach to gaming from a couple years back and things are clipping along smoothly now, save for every single boss battle.

If all goes according to plan, the review should be live by the end of the weekend. Thanks for waiting!

Rage:

After struggling for over a week to get Rage to launch on the PC I gave up and picked up a copy of it for the PS3. After a  frantic plow through of the campaign last night, constantly reminding myself that I was in fact not playing Borderlands 2, the review should be posted by the end of tomorrow.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon:

We’ve taken to the skies once again to see if this game really is the Call of Duty of the sky. Lengthy dogfights and repeated failures of the helicopter missions have thrown a few sticks into the spokes of this review, but it should be posted by this weekend or early next week.

Batman: Arkham City

Grab your shark repellent Bat Spray as Dan Curtis’ review of Batman: Arkham City will be coming along very soon to the land of mana (and tanks). Rumour has it Mr. Curtis is currently sat at home dressed in a cape, wearing his underpants on top of his clothing and staring at a clock all day every day in anticipation of the game.

Dead Rising: Off the Record

I will be reigniting a long lost friendship with Frank West as I return to Fortune City for yet another round of zombie slaying mayhem, full of UFOs, Alien Laser Face Beams, and of course zombies with cones on their heads.
