Max Payne 3 is Alive and We’ve Got the Screens to Prove It!

Fans of the series rejoice! The gritty, dark and haunted detective is back and he’s ready to activate bullet time and shoot up the next-gen.

A recent press release from Rockstar confirms that Max Payne 3 is aiming for a March release of this year.

“Max Payne 3 gave us an amazing creative opportunity to evolve one of our most iconic characters,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We’re excited to show fans a modern version of Max that pulls them back into his dark and twisted story.”

Max Payne 3 will pick up where 2 left off. Max’s life is more or less in shambles and his wife and daughter are still dead (presumably). Attempting to escape the nightmares of his past Max attempts to start anew by working for a private security company. Per the norm, things go horribly wrong and Max is the only one who can save the day.

Perhaps the most surprising aspect of Rockstar’s announcement is the fact that the game will include a competitive multiplayer that will “deliver a compelling experience that dynamically alters maps and mode progression for all players in a match.” Exactly what that means isn’t crystal clear yet but more details will become available closer to the games release.

To tide you over until then, enjoy these new screens.
