Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Version 2012 On The Way

Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Version 2012 On The Way

Capcom is determined to get as much as they possibly can out of Street Fighter IV. The current game has already had more versions than practically any game in history, and Capcom has announced there will be now a 2012 update coming out for the title that balances several characters (again).

Named Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Version 2012, the new, free update will be released by the end of the year, and is designed to balance characters such as new guy Yun, who is thought to be grossly overpowered.

Given Street Fighter IV’s lengthy history of updates, new characters being added and balancing tweaks, its not really a surprise Capcom wants to tinker with the title once again. However, you have to wonder when enough’s enough – wouldn’t it be a good idea instead to focus upon the future of Capcom rather than constantly churning out updates for the same game, running the risk of turning the balancing even worse than it was before.

That, my friends, is up for debate. However some people who love the game may welcome the balancing with open arms, and can get back to being insanely good at the title. Testing for the update is to begin in Japan later this year.

As a final thought, chew on this: HADOUKEN!
