‘Nintendo Selects’ Getting Four More Titles

‘Nintendo Selects’ Getting Four More Titles

It seems a bit late in the game for something like this to be hitting the market, but the Wii is finally going to be getting a budget line of games to coincide with the previously announced system price drop.

Titled ‘Nintendo Selects,’ the budget line of games was previously confirmed in early May. The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess, Animal Cross: City Folk, Wii Sports, and Super Mario Super Sluggers were the four titles originally unveiled, but more quickly being added to the list.

Now, depending on who you talk to, the Wii does in fact have a good many titles actually worth playing. So it’s easy to see the ‘Nintendo Selects’ list growing quite rapidly. Super Paper Mario, Super Mario Galaxy, Punch Out, and Mario Strikers: Charged have just been added to the list.

It’s clear to see that Nintendo is attempting to stave off a potentially dismal holiday season by enticing consumers to spend their hard earned cash on a system that is very clearly dated and very quickly going to be replaced by something newer and shinier. Unfortunately, pricing games that most Wii owners more than likely own already at a little less than 50% off may not be enough.

Each game will retail for $19.99 and the price drop will take effect sometime in August.
