Dark Souls Delayed (Slightly)

Originally slated for a September 15th release, Dark Souls, the spiritual successor to Demon’s Souls, will now come out instead on the 22nd in Japan. It’s a smaller delay than many games get, so that’s to be thankful for.

The game’s developers, From Software, confirmed to Kotaku that the reason for the slight delay is for ‘various reasons’, and it’s hard to get more vague than that.

Dark Souls is set to be a sort-of sequel to Demon’s Souls, which we recently reviewed and gave a perfect score, mainly due to Manatank’s Eric Pederson being completely obsessed with the game. The game is widely held as one of the most difficult to grace the PS3 with its presence, so we’ll have to wait and see if the sequel is as difficult when it lands on its new release date of 22nd September 2011. The American release date of October 4th doesn’t seem to have changed just yet though, so consider yourself lucky for the moment.
