Oh Canada, What to Expect at Fan Expo 2011

This weekend will have gamers buzzing with excitement for PAX and Fan Expo Canada. G4 presents Fan Expo Canada, which starts tomorrow (August 25th) and will run until Sunday (August 28th). This year marks the 17th annual Fan Expo which is hosted in Toronto, Ontario. The gaming portion of the event, which is presented by EB Games, has early access demos, prizes from top gaming companies, as well as well-knowing gaming guests. Fan Expo Canada is back for their 17th annual event, which showcases all things geeky,will take place this weekend in Toronto, Ontario. Fan Expo has traditionally divided the event into five component parts being the Comic Book Expo, Sci Fi Expo, Horror Expo, Anime Expo and Gaming Expo. The four day event features live panels, picture and signing opportunities, demos, merch, as well as nightly events for fans to take part in.

Fan Expo is offering early demo access to some impressive gaming titles. Gamers will have a chance to play the highly anticipated Batman Arkham City, Resistance 3, Uncharted 3 and Twisted Metal at the Sony booth. The Microsoft booth gives gamers a chance to play Gears of War 3 and Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary, two of their top-selling titles. Not to be left out, Nintendo will be giving players a chance to try out StarFox 64 3DS. Ubisoft is also giving fans a chance to play Assassin’s Creed, Just Dance 3, Driver, and Ghost Recon Future Soldier, to name a few. Disney will be providing a demo for those who are young at heart for their upcoming Disney Universe title.

Not only are companies providing live demos at their booths, they are also offering some amazing deals. One opportunity that gamers can take advantage of is the pre-order bonus for Resistance 3, the Regular or Doomsday Edition. Fans who pre-order at the EB Games booth will receive an exclusive pre-sale item. They will also have the opportunity to receive a code for the Halo Energy Sword Avatar Prop from the Microsoft booth. Sony, on the other hand, is giving away eye-candy with their Maximum & Virgin Gaming Girls on site.

The booth babes are not the only guests that fans will be visiting Fan Expo for; there is an impressive line-up of producers, hosts, voice actors and company representatives. These guests will be providing gamers with some insightful knowledge on hot topics in their panel discussions. Some highlights include Electronic Playground and Reviews on the Run discussing what to look forward to in 2011 and 2012, Sony’s Mark Levitan discussing the local video game industry and voice actors John Stocker, James C. Burns and Elias Toufexis discussing what it was like to voice famous characters.
