Xperia Play Gets Bad Company 2

As cellphones become more powerful and capable of displaying higher resolution 3d images, the reason for buying portable gaming machines seem to be growing slimmer. However, Sony is hoping to capitilize on the cellphone gaming trend by combining the PlayStation brand with a phone and supplying it with games that people actually want to play. Enter Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on the Xperia Play.

Few providers offer access to the new Xperia Play, but those who have gotten their hands on it may feel a bit let down due to the lack of truly amazing games. Not wanting to let the smartphone’s outstanding graphics and intuitive control set, EA Mobile is teaming up with Sony Ericsson to bring gamers one of the most popular modern combat games of all time, Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

“We aim to give consumers the best possible gaming experience on a smartphone and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for Xperia PLAY is the latest title from EA to bring one of the most popular gaming franchises to our consumers.” – Dominic Neil-Dwyer, Head of Market Development, Sony Ericsson

Gamers will take to the skies with new, intuitive controls, capture encampments deep within the jungle, and struggle to survive in the arid deserts and snowy arctic. The game will feature 14 single-player missions across five insanely detailed battle zones and give players access to 14 different weapons ranging from knives to rocket launchers. And in true Battlefield fashion, gamers will have full access to a variety of vehicles including tanks and helicopters.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is now available on the Xperia PLAY and players can acces it via their “Get Games” app.
