The Elder Scrolls Online Announcement Trailer

The Elder Scrolls Online Announcement Trailer

Deep throaty tones spewing forth ancient lore. Are you ready for an Elder Scrolls MMO?

Although it may not be the most enthralling announcement trailer, it does give you a smidgen of information about the game’s setting and story, provided you’re all brushed up on your Elder Scrolls lore.

I could be totally off base here, but from the sounds of things (and considering this game has been in development for quite a few years now) TES Online sounds like it will be taking place during the time of Oblivion when the Imperial throne sits empty and the Dragonfires remain unlit. In case you’ve forgotten, or somehow managed to entirely miss Oblivion, those are the two main plot points of the entire game, so it’s a pretty safe bet that we’ll be returning to a modified version of Cyrodiil in the series first ever go at multiplayer gaming.

Information is scarce for the time being, but as soon as Game Informer’s June issue drops, things are sure to start picking up, so we’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, what do you think? Are you ready to take your random murderous acts online with friends or do you prefer to be anti-social?

I feel like this might be a bad idea. I would be all for coop in an elder scrolls game, but I think that might end up ruining the lore of that world, similar to how World of Warcraft ruined the lore of Warcraft.

    • MMOs always get me excited and then they come out and turn out to be WoW clones… No thank you.

MMO’s are usually all the same and I don’t like them that very much, but if this is like a WoW type of MMO in the Elder Scrolls universe in first person, I’m game.
