Updated: Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition Announced

Enhanced Baldur’s Gate? Drooooool.
After a cryptic website, a mysterious countdown and then a catastrophic website crashing error upon the timer expiring, we can proudly reveal that the countdown was for Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition.
So as I just said, the countdown expired over on the Baldur’s Gate website, then everything crashed from presumably vast masses of rabid Baldur’s Gate fans descending upon the website like some vast and unstoppable plague. So yeah, at time of writing, the site is down.
Thankfully developers Beamdog have also released a newsletter which shows the announcement. There’s literally nothing known about the game except it’s name, the Summer 2012 release date and the fact that Overhaul Games, Atari and Wizards of the Coast are all involved.
We’ll keep you updated as more information trickles out.
update: The Baldur’s Gate site has now returned, confirming that the Enhanced Edition will feature both Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate 2! Huzzah!

Excited to see more news on this, used to love those games when I was younger!
Baldur’s gate was the first RPG I ever played and I can’t wait to see what this is.
For consoles?
Didnt they explicitly say that this new thing had nothing to do with a remade/enhanced version of the the previous games?
Do want. I missed the Baldur’s Gate train. Definitely want to play this. If it’s on console, or mac at the very least. xD
sucks there is no baldur’s gate 3… i was really hoping
