Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 Announced

It’s been a good long time since Sonic 4′s first episode was released and, finally, Sega is getting their fingers out of their backsides and showcasing Episode 2.

Announced exclusively to Gamespot, Episode 2 is apparently running on a new engine, including new graphical work and a brand new physics engine. The changes come after countless hardcore Sonic fans moaned relentlessly that Episode 1′s physics were totally rubbish and not true to the style of 2D Sonic gameplay.

There’s no specific gameplay footage as of yet, but the teaser trailer does reveal that, for better or worse, Tails is returning to the game. Also present is the ominous face of Metal Sonic, who was alluded to at the climax of the first episode.
