Minecraft Formally Launched
Just in case you’ve been living under some sort of self-constructed apparatus of social reservedness for the past year, there exists a game where you can delve back into your nostalgic youth and play with an endless set of virtual LEGOS called Minecraft… and until today it was only in its beta stages.
Today, when you log into your Minecraft account you will probably notice the apparent lack of any and all beta messages. Not that they were much of an annoyance or anything, they just served as a reminder that the game was technically still in development. It’s hard to believe a game that has garnered beyond what most would classify as a cult status has just officially been released.
The release was christened at Minecon in Las Vegas today when the game’s creator, Markus Persson, hit a giant pixelated switch serving as the symbolic activation button. Upon pressing of the button the entire team broken into a joint dance party, and they rightfully should as Minecraft has a loong, bright future ahead of it.
